Duet

Duet pairs the large ceramic jars of Paul Chaleff with the early abstract paintings of Hollis Jeffcoat creating a harmony between paint and clay.

Paul Chaleff is a pioneer and recognized expert in the technique of Japanese wood-fired pottery and the creation of large-scale ceramic vessels. This exhibit will feature both his large ceramic jars with innovative glazes and organic wood-fired vessels.

Hollis Jeffcoat spent her early career painting in France, where she lived with Joan Mitchell for three years, and in Montreal. The paintings in this exhibit chronicle these years and reflect her surroundings and influences.
