  Florida Sky 14 oil on board, 36" x 48" 2012

Greg Biolchini Gallery

Greg Biolchini, who moved from Chicago to Bonita Springs as a boy, spent 35 years developing a national reputation as a teacher, juror and master pastelist. Three years ago, Biolchini turned his considerable talents to painting his life-long love – Florida skies.

Working in oil, Biolchini’s Summer Sky Series does justice to Nature. The paintings have an authenticity to them without being illustrative or sentimental. They are quietly powerful and are overwhelming in their beauty. They are a snapshot of summer’s paradise.

Biolchini has had 30 solo exhibits throughout the country since 1975 and received 15 significant awards including Master Pastelist Status by the Pastel Society of America. In addition he has written and had published three books and DVD’s on his teaching methods. Biolchini’s work is in numerous public collections including three museums. He has his studio in Fort Myers.

“I’ve been thinking about these skies for the past 20 years and I want to paint them for the next 20.” -- Greg Biolchini
